Responsive web design is all about making your site accessible on any device. Times are changing and so should your website. The way users consume content, purchase products and utilize services is constantly evolving. Make sure your website is keeping up.
What is responsive web design?
Designing your website to be responsive allows the content, user interface and visual design to change and become optimized for the size of the device being used. This helps provide a positive user experience regardless of what the site is being viewed on—desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
Responsive design cuts out the need for a separate website for mobile phones and tablets. This results in less content management, less system support, and, ultimately, less overall cost. Besides that, a responsive site will help you reach the increasingly growing amount of users accessing the web on devices other than a desktop. In 2013, mobile devices accounted for almost a fifth—17.4% to be exact—of global web usage (thanks Statista!). That's up more than 6% from 2012. Pretty crazy, right?
