Marco's Pizza

Marco’s is known for having the best pizza in Ohio, but they’re ready to fight for a bigger piece of the pie. Zuno developed a website with enhanced location based promotions, a more sophisticated store locator and advanced analytics and tracking capabilities. The end result is almost as good as their delicious, cheesy pies.

Challenge

Being franchise owned, each location (and there are over 200!) constantly runs different promotions, has different hours of operation, receives individual customer feedback and accepts hundreds of job applications. Aside from the logistical nightmare of managing a rapidly increasing store count, the site also had to convey Marco's Pizza's authentic, old-world flavor and stand out amongst some of the largest pizza chains in the world. No biggie, right?

Strategy

Zuno Studios used the Joomla! content management system framework to build a custom, easy to manage site. Joomla! was chosen because of its powerful and proven framework allowing us to easy build custom extensions to accomplish all of the client and site goals. With everything from franchisee, store, and promotion components to Geo-decoding user IP addresses and making sure Marco's receives relative offers, the system is still flexible, allowing it to grow as needed.

The site currently receives about 3,500 unique visitors a day and runs like a well oiled machine. That's a lot of pies to pump out! We like ours with pepperoni and extra cheese—the healthy way.
