Every rockstar had to start somewhere...and it might have been right around the corner. Gigzee.com helps you find live "gigz" right in your area! Zuno designed a site that made it easy for users to simply type in a zip code and find indie artists, locate venues, track and review their favorite gigz. Who knows, you may end up rocking out to the Coldplay of tomorrow.

Challenges

As a new company in the music industry, Gigzee.com needed to establish itself as a player in the field and communicate the unique qualities that differentiate it from other music focused websites. Gigzee lists hundreds of thousands of live music gigz and needed an easy way for users to find gigz close to them. They also wanted to give music fans an easy way to track gigz, artists and favorite venues.

Strategies

Zuno designed a brand that spoke to the broadest range of music fans. From jazz to rap, the branding and identity targets the music lover in all genres. When it came to the user interface design making everything as simple as possible for the end-user was the ultimate goal. When you visit Gigzee.com it's not hard to figure out where to start - you type in your zip code and voila!, you get a list of upcoming shows in your area, complete with a map, venue name and cost information. When you click on one of the shows in your area the user-friendly focus continues, making it easy to track those gigz, create a list of your favorite artists and venues, and show some love by writing reviews.

With the music industry being so competitive and a significant amount of traffic coming from searches, the site had to be extremely search engine friendly. One of the main SEO strengths is the structure of the page content and the use of proper front-end mark-up.

In addition to the design of Gigzee's corporate identity and website, Zuno also developed widgets and applications that would carry Gigzee from their own site to iPhones and fellow music sites such as MySpace Music.
