Another year is wrapping up and - as we all know - with every ending comes a fresh beginning! We'd like to kick off 2010 by giving a little back to those who will spend the new year working hard to do good for others. The Zuno Studios team will help one non-profit organization start the new year off in style by designing a free logo for their organization.
Why are we doing this? Well, aside from our love for design, we've also had the privilege to work with some amazing non-profit groups over the year. And we know how hard they work, so we want to do our part. We hope this new logo will help give the winner a little more brand power and bring additional attention to their cause.
We're keeping the entry requirements simple (You're welcome!).
Just leave a comment below with:
- Your company's name
- A brief statement about what your non-profit organization does, and
- A brief statement about why you deserve, need or should win
We will take entries through January 6, 2010, so spread the word! The Zuno team will collectively select 3 entries that will compete for the prize. We will then open the polls and leave it to the public. Visitors will have the chance to vote for their favorite. Majority rules.
Winner will be selected on January 13, 2010 and announced via our blog and Facebook page. Follow @mlackey and @zuno on Twitter to stay posted. See below for more details on rules.
Wishing you all the very best in 2010!
Rules and Regulations:
Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, January 6, 2010 by 12am PST. Must be an official 501(c)(3) non-profit company to win. One winner will be selected and announced on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. 2. A brief statement about what your non-profit organization does: Metropolitan Orlando Urban League Young Professionals (MOULYP) is a network of young professionals across Central Florida who provide leadership development, economic empowerment and community volunteer opportunities for other young professionals. The organization trains, develops, and educates young professionals to take leadership roles within the Urban League, the civil rights movement, and society-at-large. Young Professionals are between the ages of 21 and 40 participate in Urban League community empowerment activities, mentor local youth, and provide business and entrepreneurial resources for our members.
3. A Brief statement about why you deserve, need or should win: We are celebrating our 5th year anniversary in 2010 as a Young Professionals chapter in the National Urban League. We have a new executive board and a new outlook for our organization in 2010 so what wouldnt be greater than to have a new look. We dont have an official logo for our chapter but we do use the National Urban League symbol.
Power Paws Assistance Dogs, Inc.
2. A brief statement about what your non-profit organization does:
Our mission is to place highly skilled assistance dogs with children and adults with disabilities, provide education and ongoing support for working assistance dog teams and to be a resource in the community for people with disabilities.
3. A brief statement about why you deserve, need or should win:
Power Paws has been in business for 8 years and we've existed on a small, very tight budget. Our logo is a generic purple paw. We would like to update and refresh our logo to reflect our professionalism and the pride we have for the work we do.
2) WHOmentors.com, Inc. promotes and provides easy access to a wide range of episodic volunteer opportunities, http://www.WHOmentors.com/volunteer.htm that serve the entire community.
3) WHOmentors.com, Inc. facilitates Mentor Practitioner Professional Development at every level of opportunity and is an expert at Mentor Presence Management for business, industry, educational institutions, government entities, communities, and individuals.
The ninth annual National Mentoring Month begins January 1, 2010. A new logo would assist WHOmentors.com, Inc. to become the most obvious, unarguable source of Appointed Mentor Practitioners and remain the only nationally recognized expert on the subject of Mentor Practitioner Education and Competency-based Certification.
A professional logo would appear in media campaigns and promotional activities to highlight mentoring and the opportunity for adults to become mentors to the 17 million children who need and want a caring adult in their lives.
Rabbit Match is a rabbit rescue in Los Angeles, California. We are all-volunteer.
Our purpose is to:
1) find homeless rabbits loving indoor homes (we've had adopters from as far as Boston and Canada);
2) care for about 25 rabbits in two locations (that means pet, feed, groom, pet, clean, pet and supply LOTS of hay and pet some more);
3) give medical attention to those who have been badly neglected (thanks to wonderful local exotics vets);
3) spay/neuter all our buns before adoption (they are nature's 'fast food' and can have 4-10 kits every 30 days);
4) educate the public on the joys of living with a house rabbit.
And you get binkies too.

They are 100% vegan + green companions.
A new logo would help us with a new ad campaign we are beginning this year. We'd love the help and so would the bunnies.
2) What we do: With society as it is today, a true need to assist in "refocusing" our minds is of great importance. Our therapy program concentrates on behavioral and mental health disabilities. The Mission Statement for our organization is:
MMTP provides behavioral and mental health therapy programs at our facility in Homestead, FL or at our client’s location. Trained volunteers provide individualized therapy sessions to ensure that each client is given the best opportunity to enhance their abilities and health. Utilizing rescued mini-horses, large horses, small animals and therapy dogs enables us to reach small children and wheel chair restricted clients as well as our mobile clients.
Our Vision Statement for our organization is:
We are here to touch all forms of life. By offering animals at all levels we open our program up to many individuals who would otherwise be unable to move forward in therapy and improve their functioning abilities and improve their general health.
We inspire to reach as many individuals from child to adult who need to refocus their behaviors for a variety of reasons. Animal therapy has proven to change lives around.
Working with the local "rescue" agencies assists in redirection of animals from abandonment, neglect and abusive environments. By taking these animals and placing them in our program, we have given them another chance at a happy and fulfilling life.
Offering our program as a "green pasture boarding" to senior horse owners will give an owner the chance to have their beloved family member around as long as possible.
3) Why we need you: Mini-Me Therapy Partners is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization that is in the start-up/early phase of our program. We operate on donations and volunteers and could really use the assistance in developing our logo. It is our mission to make a difference in our community. Having a logo that will promote our program would be a great opportunity for our marketing.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, SBM is committed to serve the men and women in the military, including all allied forces, by providing free Bibles and study materials upon request. During 2009 along, we distributed tens of thousands of Bibles and accompanying materials free of charge in response to the overwhelming requests from chaplains, military organizations, veterans associations, families of deployed men and women, and individual troops.
We have aggressive goals for 2011 and 2012 which will continue to catapult this ministry into the public eye through projects such as the publication of the Heritage Edition of the Soldiers Pocket Bible due to be released late spring. We are currently hosting a competition to design the cover of this edition which will be put into the hands of men and women in uniform throughout all branches of our military. (See "Competition" on the SBM website: www.soldiersbibleministry.org.)
It is the purpose and goal of SBM to offer spiritual and emotional support to our soldiers returning stateside from deployment in Afghanistan and Iraq through our growing base of PTSD specialists. This area of ministry will explode within the next 12-14 months as awareness is increased through various public symposiums and conferences with key-note speakers and ranking active and veteran military officials.
SBM is also known for strict adherence to the military law concerning proselytizing and takes very special care not to cross any lines of offense. We never proselytize but simply respond to the specific and personal requests of chaplains and civilians for spiritual study materials.
By winning this logo design, SBM will move up another level toward excellence in their online presence and exposure. A professional web development team has already committed to take charge of SBM's website (and all it's peripheral sites) by the second quarter 2010 to develop upscale professional websites which will meet the huge challenges of web activity during the coming months. Having a logo to match the professional quality of the website(s) will further SBM's credibility in both the secular and spiritual fields.
SBM is 100% volunteer operated; no salary is taken by any officer, board member, staff member, or volunteer. With a national volunteer staff from from Washington State to New York, SBM continues to engage the expertise and talents of top-quality professionals who are sensitive to the spiritual and emotional needs of all our men and women in uniform, allied forces, and international military organizations fighting for freedom from political and social oppression.
Thank you so much for this opportunity to share our work, our goals, and our hope to receive this esteemed gift.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, HGIM serves as the parent organization to several international and national outreaches demonstrating the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by reaching out to men, women and children by reaching beyond the social, economic, cultural and religious barriers to bring hope and life to the world. As we partner together with like-minded domestic and international indigenous ministries, we work to fulfill our commission to demonstrate love and compassion to all people.
HGIM is a solely donor-supported organization; no board member, staff member, or volunteer takes a salary. It is our policy that 100% of every designated donation be applied to the project of the contributor's choice. All officers and board members donate their time and resources; all volunteers work out of their homes and use their own equipment voluntarily for the every day administration of HGIM's outreaches and programs.
From abandoned tribal children in Uganda and India, to poor villagers in Kenya, to the oppressed and downcast in Haiti, to the forgotten in Israel, the men and women in uniform in Iraq and Afghanistan and stateside, to emotionally traumatized military heroes, to homeless on the streets of major cities in the US, HGIM is making a difference. The work is hard but very rewarding. You can learn more about HGIM at www.heartofgodinternational.org.
HGIM is in a transitional state right now with incredible potential in 2010 and beyond to multiply its international impact. A new logo on our websites would be seen by an incredible number of visitors as visibility and awareness of HGIM's work will grow exponentially. If HGIM should be chosen to win, the new logo and credits will not only be visible to hundreds of thousands of visitors, but will become an icon associated with the growing network of outreaches and their respective websites.
Thank you so much for your consideration.

We’re a non-profit committed to improving the health of children in some of the most underserved regions of the world, while nurturing the skills of the next generation of physicians here in this country. More specifically, there are two major arms to our program:
1. We’re bringing and sending pediatricians and pediatric surgeons from the U.S. to train local physicians abroad. Our focus is to build local capacity for our global partners, so that we can make a sustainable impact (i.e., rather than just operating clinics in these settings, we’re also training local health care workers and medical faculty, who can in turn train the next generation of local physicians... sustainability is a priority). As an example, our pilot project has been established in Mozambique. With over 10 million children in the entire country, there are only 10 pediatricians in the entire nation, and no pediatric surgeons and no pediatric subspecialists. All participating physicians are volunteering their time and services to improve the care delivered by local health care workers in this setting.
2. As our relationships become established with these global partners, we’re also providing training experiences for U.S. medical students and residents in these settings. There’s great evidence in the literature that such experiences promote humanism, cultural sensitivity and a greater commitment to working with underserved populations here at home!
We’ve established this program in partnership with the Program in Global Health at the David Geffen School of Medicine. While we feel very prepared to identify international partners, to define the training needs in these settings, and to mobilize experienced and excellent physician-trainers to volunteer in these settings, we’re struggling now with the start of marketing and development activities. Any assistance with the creation of a logo or additional support to help get us started would be tremendously appreciated!
Most cancer organizations are research based. Education and our patients are our top priority. Our main goal is to customize, individualize and implement a program for each of our patients. Our goal is to restore a high quality of life to beat the disease focused around building the immune system as opposed to traditional methods that destroy the body's natural line of defense.
For over 30 years we've counseled over 30,000 patients worldwide through our phone counseling sessions as well as coaching 50,000 prevention seekers. We're rebranding ourselves as Beat Cancer as opposed to the actual name of the organization. (Center for Advancement in Cancer Education) Our logo has been the same since 1977 when we were first founded. When things remain the same for so many years you become invisible. We have a name, now need a logo to build the brand recognition we need to move into the 21st century and out of the 70's. You can help us accomplish this.
Thank you for your help.
